Report on the Celebration of World Oral Health Day 2026 Dental Science Hygienist Association of Nepal

The Dental Science Hygienist Association of Nepal proudly celebrated World Oral Health Day 2026 through a series of impactful programs organized by its Province Committees across the country. These activities aimed to promote oral hygiene awareness, improve access to basic oral care, and support underserved communities.

In Koshi Province, the committee organized an Oral Health Awareness and Oral Hygiene Kits along with Food Distribution Program at Maya Ghar Nepal, Ithari. This initiative reached approximately 130 homeless individuals from 62 districts who are currently sheltered there. The program emphasized the importance of maintaining oral hygiene while also addressing immediate nutritional needs.

Bagmati b Province Committee Program

The Bagmati Province B Committee conducted an Oral Health Awareness Rally in Chitwan, successfully engaging the local community and spreading key messages about preventive oral care practices.

Similarly, the Gandaki Province Committee, in collaboration with Kantipur Institute of Health Science and Dental Hospital, organized an Oral Health Awareness Rally in Pokhara. The program also included the distribution of oral hygiene kits and breakfast at an NGO, Chori, benefiting vulnerable groups and reinforcing healthy habits.

In Karnali Province, an Oral Health Awareness Program was conducted at Siddha Deaf and Dumb School. The program specifically focused on differently abled children, providing them with oral health education and distributing essential oral hygiene kits.

The Sudurpashchim Province Committee carried out an Oral Health Awareness Program at the premises of Ghodaghodi Temple. This event included the distribution of oral hygiene kits and food materials, reaching a wide section of the local population.

All these programs were conducted under the supervision of Mikal Devkota, President of the Central Committee of the Dental Science Hygienist Association of Nepal. His leadership ensured effective coordination and successful implementation of activities nationwide.

The President extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and donors whose generous support and active involvement contributed to making this nationwide celebration a grand success. The collective efforts of all Province Committees have significantly strengthened the mission of promoting oral health awareness and community service throughout Nepal.
